Mysuru: Dr. Vijayalakshmi Manapura, Folklore Department faculty of Maharaja’s College, Mysuru, was conferred the prestigious Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement Annual National Award- 2022 at a programme held at ADA Rangamandira in Bengaluru recently.

The award is given by International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms, Bengaluru.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi, who is also a folk singer and a folk exponent, was conferred the award in recognition of her contributions to the fields of folklore research, teaching, publication and for promotion of folk arts, culture and literature.
