Dr. Manik Bengeri’s books released

Mysore/Mysuru: Two books with the same title Sangeet-Naatya-Panchayatan (original Marathi), authored by Mysuru-based writer Dr. Manik Bengeri and translated into Hindi by Prof. Pratibha Mudaliyar, retired Hindi HoD of Mysore University, were released at an event recently under the aegis of Book Lovers Club, Belagavi. The books are published by Aman Prakashan, Kanpur, UP. 

The books contain Indian ancient classical music, Tansen, its influence on theatre, especially since 18th century to 20th century, on famous actor-singer Narayan Rajahansa alias Bal-Gandharv and his contemporaries in entire India, with special reference to Gubbi Veeranna, Yenagi Balappa and Savai Gandharv of Karnataka, the role of women in Karnataka on theatre etc. This book is being translated into Kannada by Dr. Karunalakshmi, Asst. Hindi Professor, Mysuru and into English by Dr. Manik Bengeri’s son Atul Bengeri, a Digital Strategist & SmartTech Specialist.
