Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Neurologist of the city Dr. Shushruth Gowda has been appointed as a KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee) General Secretary.

Dr. Shushruth Gowda is the son of late Dr. H.C. Vishnumurthy, Founder-Chairman of the city’s Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in Nazarbad and K.G. Rekha Murthy couple.

Dr. Shushruth had studied at B.M. Patil Medical College, Vijayapura, Stanley Medical College, Chennai and specialised  in Neurology from University of Florida in USA.

It may be recalled here that Dr. Shushruth had accompanied Congress stalwart Rahul Gandhi during Rahul’s Kanyakumari to Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra covering a distance of over 3,000 kms. He was also a keen aspirant for the Congress ticket from Mysuru-Kodagu LS Constituency. Now the Congress has appointed him as a KPCC General Secretary in recognition of his organisational skills and contributions to the party.
