Mysuru, Mar. 30 – Dr. Usha Hegde, Professor, Department of Oral Pathology, JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysuru, has been appointed as one of the whole-time members of National Dental Commission (NDC) by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Dr. Usha Hegde will be serving as a whole-time member for a term of four years in the Ethics and Dental Registration Board of NDC that has been formed to govern professional conduct and registration of dentists across the country. She will be working from the New Delhi office while serving her term at the NDC.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, Dr. Usha Hegde said, “It is a privilege and an honour to be a part of the National Dental Commission. I am looking forward for the job and to serve dentistry.”

Dr. Usha Hegde, wife of city’s well-known Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Ajay Hegde, is an accomplished athlete and the first woman from Mysuru to summit Mount Everest.
