Drain overflows at Kuvempunagar

May 25, 2026

Sir,

The apathy of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials continues and literally has no leaps and bounds. The stormwater drain below our residence in Kuvempunagar (Ward No. 57 – Zone 3) is overflowing and repeated attempts to contact the MCC have been exhaustive and of no use.

The Twitter handle is just for name’s sake; their WhatsApp complaint numbers don’t provide a response, and their e-mail bounces back. When we tried to contact someone from the MCC, we were left to wonder if anyone really uses their office phones.

The newly built office building in Sharadadevinagar, in all its glory, is another space for just recording attendance.

The problem at hand is a serious health hazard and with many senior citizens and young children living in the area, this is one disaster waiting to explode.

By the way, this area is only a few kilometres away from CM Siddaramaiah’s residence.
