Mysuru: The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), in association with Mysuru District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), the District Judicial Department, Forest Department, Mysore Bar Association, Heartfulness Institute, Mysuru and College of Horticulture, Mysuru, will launch a ‘One lakh tree planting drive’ at the College premises in Yalachanahalli, Yelwal Hobli in Mysuru taluk at 8.30 am tomorrow (July 4).
Karnataka High Court Judge Justice S.G. Pandit will launch the drive, which is an initiative designed to restore deforested areas, combat climate change and expand green cover.
The theme of the drive is ‘One tree, a hundred breaths.’ The campaign will also ensure that the planted saplings survive and thrive.
Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Usharani, who is also the Chairperson of DLSA, University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vishnuvardhana, DCF K. Paramesh, Mysore Bar Association President S. Lokesh, Heartfulness Institute’s Regional Facilitator K. Madhusudhan, Horticulture College Dean Chandrashekar Hanchinamani and others will be present on the occasion, according to a press release.
