DSS demands thorough probe

January 5, 2023

Mysuru: Dalita Sangarsha Samithi (DSS) has demanded the authorities concerned to arrest Santro Ravi for sexually assaulting a girl on the pretext of giving her job and conduct a thorough probe. DSS has also demanded legal action against Ministers and senior officials who are supporting the accused.

DSS District Convenor Bettaiah Kote, Organising Convenor Shambhulingaswamy and Alagudu Shivakumar, who met the girl, have collected information from her and have issued a press note. In the press release, they have stated that Santro Ravi, with the help of influential Ministers and senior IAS and IPS Officers, was indulging in illegal activities by targeting helpless Dalit girls. After luring them on the pretext of giving them jobs, he had sexually assaulted them which has been proved by various documents.

Pointing out that a case under various IPS Sections and Dowry Prohibition Act and SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act has been registered against him, they said that the DSS, in a bid to get justice to the victim, has decided to launch a Statewide agitation for seeking justice.

The release further states that many criminal cases were registered against Santro Ravi in various Police Stations across the State and added that though Courts have announced him as a proclaimed offender, the Home Minister having contacts with such a criminal gives rise to doubts. A lawyer, who has to provide justice, a retired IPS Officer, retired IAS Officer and senior Police Officers supporting Santro Ravi have come to light through various documents and statements from the victim. Hence, the Chief Minister should take this issue seriously and provide justice to the victim.
