DSS members stage protest

Mysore/Mysuru: Around 70 members of Mysuru District Unit Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (KDSS) held a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s Office here this morning, urging the State Government to fulfil their demands.

The protestors demanded the Government to regularise jobs of pourakarmikas who are working in Gram Panchayat limits; to build residential plots for them and provide Rs. 10 lakh as compensation to family of civic workers in case of death. They also demanded the Government to employ more number of pourakarmikas in Gram Panchayat limits and submitted a memorandum at the DC Office. KDSS office-bearers Somanna Bannahalli, Puttalakshmamma, Doddasiddu, Ilavala Chamaraju, Kallimuddanahalli Chandru, Vasantha Honnenahalli and others led the protest.
