DSS stages protest demanding reservation in job promotion

April 3, 2017

Opposing the Supreme Court’s recent judgement striking down the consequential seniority in promotions for SC/ST Government employees, over 50 members of Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Ambedkarism) staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office here this morning.

Terming the SC verdict as unfortunate, the protesters urged the State Government to file a review petition before the Apex Court and also promulgate an order that safeguards job promotion for SC/ST employees.

The Samiti office-bearers Ningaraj Malladi, H.P. Diwakar, Karya Basavanna, Chamaraju, Puttalakshmamma and others took part in the demonstration.
