Dy.SP Ganapathy suicide case: HC refuses to stay George’s appeal against hearing

October 8, 2020

Bengaluru: In what is said to be a setback for former Congress Minister and current MLA K.J. George in the Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy suicide case, a Judge of the Karnataka High Court (HC) has refused to hear the plea of the former Minister, which sought a stay on the  hearings in Peoples Representative Special Court and the summons issued to him in connection with the case.

Justice Suraj Govindaraj, who took up George’s plea yesterday, refused to hear the petition by putting up a note ‘Not before me.’ As such, George will now have to wait till his plea is transferred to another Bench of the High Court.

Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy, who was serving at Mangaluru, allegedly committed suicide at  a lodge in Madikeri in 2016, accusing the then Home Minister K.J. George and senior IPS Officers A.M. Prasad and Pranab Mohanty of harassment.
