October 8, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Authorities of Sri Kanyakaparameshwari Co-operative Bank Limited, have lodged a complaint against a man for allegedly producing fake documents and availing a loan of Rs. 96 lakh from the Bank. G.V. Balu, a resident of Nrupatunga Road 1st Cross at Kuvempunagar, is the accused.

Based on the complaint lodged by Bank’s General Manager (GM) K.N. Nataraju, Devaraja Police have registered a case on Oct. 1 under IPC Section 465, 467, 470, 471 and 420. Inspector Prasanna Kumar is investigating.

In his complaint, the Bank General Manager has stated that Balu, while availing the loan of Rs. 96 lakh, had produced the mortgage deed and instead of registering it in the name of the Bank at the Sub-Registrar’s Office, he (Balu) had used fake seals and signatures to make the mortgage deed look genuine and produced the same to the Bank and availed the loan.

While verifying the documents, the Bank authorities found differences in the documents produced to the Bank and the documents produced while mortgaging the site, the complaint said.

The Bank GM has also stated that when the Bank authorities enquired Balu about it, Balu is said to have confessed of committing the mistake and had also given a letter in this regard in writing.

Nataraju has accused Balu of creating a fake document of Site No. 586 at Nachanahallipalya, mortgaged the same to the Bank and has availed the loan.

Meanwhile, Devaraja Inspector Prasanna Kumar, speaking to SOM, said that when the accused was summoned to the Police Station for enquiry, he (Balu) had stated that the documents were not fake and all the documents produced by him were original and genuine. Hence, to find out the truth, we are investigating.
