Elderly man killed in accident

Mysuru: A 60-year-old man, riding a moped, was killed in a road accident at Gungral Chathra village, Yelwal hobli. The accident left two others injured.

The deceased, identified as Puttanayaka, a resident of the village, succumbed to his injuries, while Sujith and Preetham from Rattanahalli sustained injuries.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon when Puttanayaka was riding his moped (KA-09-HV-6778) to refuel it and a bike (KA-09-HP-6589), travelling from Hosakote towards Yelwal, collided with him.

All three injured were rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru by ambulance. However, Puttanayaka succumbed to his injuries en route.

Yelwal Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident.
