Elderly man killed in road accident

Mysore/Mysuru: An elderly two-wheeler rider, who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Sunday afternoon and rushed to K.R. Hospital for treatment, has been declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors at the hospital.

The deceased is Honnegowda (65), a resident of Gadijogi hundi, Bannur hobli in T. Narasipur taluk.

On Sunday, Honnegowda was proceeding on his bike on H.D. Kote Road from Parasaiahnahundi and took a right turn on the Ring Road, when a lorry coming from Dattagalli side on the Ring Road rammed into the bike Honnegowda was riding resulting in him sustaining serious injuries. Though he was rushed to K.R. Hospital, he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors.

K.R. Traffic Inspector Manjunath, who registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the deceased’s family members yesterday.
