Youth stabbed to death over mobile phone issue

August 17, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: An issue pertaining to purchase of mobile phone has led to a group of three youths stabbing to death another youth at Kalyangiri here yesterday.

This is the second incident within 24 hours of another crime where a man had allegedly killed his brother-in-law and walked into Udayagiri Police Station with the severed arm of his brother-in-law in a bag and surrendered.

In the second incident, a youth, who was standing in front of his house, has been stabbed to death and the incident has shocked the residents.

The deceased youth is Yasin (24), residing near the petrol bunk at Kalyangiri. He was standing in front of his house, when three youths, suddenly attacked him with lethal weapons, stabbed him with a knife and fled from the spot.

Though Yasin was being rushed to K.R. Hospital, he is said to have breathed his last on the way to the hospital and the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’ on arrival, according to Udayagiri Police.

It is learnt that about a week back, Yasin had a quarrel with the three youths over purchase of a mobile phone which had led to a fight. In a bid to take revenge on Yasin, the three youths are said to have been waiting for an opportunity and yesterday morning, the three youths who found Yasin standing alone, brutally assaulted and stabbed him to death when he was standing alone.

Udayagiri Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab the three accused youths. The Cops have also collected CCTV footages of cameras installed nearby and are examining them.
