November 14, 2018

Mandya: An elderly unidentified man died after being run over by a train at Mandya Railway Station on Monday night.

The Railway Police have suspected that the man aged between 60 and 65 years may have been crossing the railway track when the Vishwamanava Express train ran over him.

The Police have suspected that the deceased may have been the resident of Mysuru as a ticket from Mysuru to Mandya was found with him. Though the Railway Police tried to rush him to the hospital, the man is said to have died midway and have shifted the body to Mandya General Hospital mortuary.

The deceased is lean built, round faced, oily red complexioned and was wearing a light blue coloured full arm shirt and grey pant, has a sacred thread (Janivara) on his body and a yellow and red mixed thread tied on his right hand. The kith and kin of the deceased, if any, may contact Mandya Railway Police Station on Ph: 08232-222340.
