Hunsur: A woman on the pretext of asking drinking water has reportedly robbed an elderly woman of her gold chain.

The incident took place at Chikka Hunsur village in Hunsur and the victim is identified as 80-year-old Jayamma, wife of late Chinnappa and a resident of the village.

When Jayamma was alone in the house, the stranger, who came asking for water, followed her inside and gagged her mouth, tied her hands and legs and stole the 30 gram gold chain. The incident came to light when the neighbours saw Jayamma tied-up and rescued her. Santhasi Nagar Police have registered a case.
