As election year nears, JD(S) Chief performs Tri-Ranga Darshana

December 30, 2017

Mysuru: With Assembly elections just a couple of months  away, former Prime Minister and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda did a bit of temple hopping on Friday.

Deve Gowda performed the Tri-Ranga Darshana, considered auspicious, visiting Adi Ranga at Srirangapatna, Madhya Ranga at Shivanasamudra and Antya Ranga in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Visiting all the three temples on a single day is considered lucky.

Gowda began the Darshan at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatna, then travelled to Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Shivanasamudra in Malavalli taluk and then visited Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli.

He was accompanied by his wife Chennamma, son H.D. Revanna, MLA and former Minister daughter-in-law Bhavani Revanna, daughters Anusuya and Shailaja and MLC T.A. Saravana.

The former PM arrived at the Mysore Airport in a private aircraft along with his family members. He briefly halted at the Government Guest House, where he spoke to press persons.

Stating that he is an ardent devotee of God, Deve Gowda said that throughout his political career, he has derived strength by prayers.

Pointing out that he was fighting against the two national parties — Congress and the BJP, Deve Gowda said that he was offering special pujas on account of Vaikunta Ekadashi as it is auspicious. Later, the former PM travelled by road to the historical town of Srirangapatna and offered prayers, following which he left for Shivanasamudra and later proceeded to Srirangam, thus completing the Tri-Ranga Darshana.
