August 19, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: A preliminary meeting of district BJP leaders, chaired by Party District President L.R. Mahadevaswamy, was held at city BJP office yesterday to discuss the forthcoming elections to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) — City Municipal Council, Town Municipal Council and Town Panchayat.

Sitting members of various Local Bodies of Nanjangud, H.D. Kote, T. Narasipur and Hunsur Assembly Segments participated in the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, L.R. Mahadevaswamy said that the meeting of Mandal Heads of Mysuru Rural Division was being held as per the directions of State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra. “The sitting members of the Local Bodies must start their preparations immediately. We must face the elections with complete co-ordination with the JD(S).  The opinion of Mandal Heads and members must be sought before fighting the elections. We need to unite and work for the success of party candidates,” said the party District President.

B. Harshavardhan, former Nanjangud MLA, advised party leaders to take everybody including the JD(S) leaders into confidence and fight the elections without giving room for any confusions and face the  elections.

Leader S. Mahadevaiah, who also spoke at the meeting, said that since BJP and JD(S) workers fought the recent Lok Sabha elections unitedly, it was possible to win the election. This has increased the confidence of both party workers and also strengthened the BJP-JD(S) alliance. In future also, we will face the elections truthfully, he assured.

District Gen. Secretary Balakrishna, Mahesh Madawadi, District Vice-President Ramesh Kumar, Ganesh Kumaraswamy, Hunsur President T.D. Narayan, H.D. Kote President Shambhegowda and others  were present.
