Encroachment at Lingambudhi Lake?

April 2, 2024

Sir,

There seems to be a lot of attempts going on, in and around the city, to grab lands belonging to the public. Star of Mysore dated Mar. 26 had mentioned about a Housing Society allegedly encroaching upon a park space for sites. Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) needs to be appreciated for the prompt action taken.

A similar thing seems to be happening near Kautilya School, Dattagalli. The owner of the farmland seems to be extending his fence into Lingambudhi Lake,  a Reserve Forest. The accompanying photos seem to suggest this.

The authorities concerned should look into this issue immediately. The value is clearly in high figures, considering the length of the fence. I think a clarification to the public is needed regarding this.
