The South Western Railway (SWR) seems to have little regard for the precious time of passengers. I travelled by Train No. 12614 from KSR Bengaluru to Mysuru on Sept. 9, 2026 and I had a frustrating experience.

The train reached the Mysuru Goods Terminal at around 5.15 pm. However, it was kept waiting there and subsequently at the outer yard before being allowed to proceed to Mysuru Railway Station.

It finally reached the station at around 6 pm, resulting in a delay of nearly 40-45 minutes for the final few kilometres of the journey.

Whatever may be the technical or operational reasons, keeping passengers waiting for nearly 45 minutes cannot be justified.

Unfortunately, this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Trains arriving at Mysuru are frequently made to wait at the outer for 10-15 minutes, causing unnecessary inconvenience and loss of valuable time to passengers.

I appeal to the Railway authorities to look into this recurring problem, identify the reasons for such delays and take necessary corrective measures. Passengers should not have to lose 30-45 minutes merely waiting for a train to enter the station.
