Engage children in yoga camps: AIR Director

May 30, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: All India Radio (AIR) Director M. Umesh has  advised parents to send their children to yoga camps during summer holidays so that they can develop all-round skills like intelligence, smartness and personality development, through various yoga postures.

Umesh was speaking at the valedictory function of 12th batch of Antardrishti Medulu Jagruti Yogic Camp organised at Ramakrishnanagar’s Paramahamsa Yoga Mahavidyalaya by Antardrishti Brain Academy recently.

“Parents are happy if their children are smart and intelligent. Parents have the responsibility of continuously safeguarding the smile on the face of their children and encourage the habit of learning. Parents should try to evolve their children as ‘Receivers’ so that they are able to grasp any subject and provide them the required training. Such skilled activities are an integral part of yoga,” he added.

“In summer camps, only a few games, activities, music and acting are taught. But yoga offers more benefits in its camp. Yoga teaches creative activities like concentration, memory power, balance between left and right brain, brain gym, pyramid meditation and pranayama. Hence, you will be aware of the development of your child,” he concluded.

International Yoga Judge Shivaprakash Guruji, Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) M.B. Srikantaswamy, Learners Global School and PU College Founder Murali Mohan, Camp Manager Mithila Manjunath and others were present.

Gandhari Vidye exhibited

Taksha Chanakya Rebanta (Basava Pratibhe), an 8th standard student, was blindfolded (by tying a black band around his eyes like Gandhari in Mahabharata) and with his concentration and grasping power, identified colours, pages of books, numbers, appearance of a person and dress worn, without any confusion which astonished                                                            the audience.
