Engineer commits suicide

Pandavapura: An incident of a young engineer committing suicide by falling under a moving train has been reported near Pandavapura Railway Station on Friday night and the incident came to light when the Police found the body on the railway track the next morning.

The deceased engineer has been identified as H.P. Raju Gowda (27), son of Puttegowda and a resident of Harohalli village in the taluk.

Raju Gowda, after completing his engineering course, who was working at a private firm in Bengaluru, had left Bengaluru to Pandavapura in a train on Friday night.

Raju, before committing suicide had written a death note, which has been found by the Police. Railway Police, who rushed to the spot on Saturday morning, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to Pandavapura General Hospital mortuary where post-mortem was conducted and the body was later handed over to his family members.

Mysuru Railway Police have registered a case in this regard.
