Enmity: Youths stabbed over petty reasons

Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to take revenge on two youths, who had thrashed him for scolding them a couple of days ago, a person, along with his friends allegedly stabbed the two youths after following them on a bike. The incident took place at Devaraj Urs Road-JLB Road junction on Monday night.

The duo who received stab injuries are 22-year-old Mahesh, who is working at a Gobi Manchurian stall on the footpath near Shanthala Theatre belonging to one Naveen and 27-year-old Arun of Halebandikeri. 

Police said that the accused, identified as Jayakumar along with his friends had stabbed the two with a dagger.

Details: Arun, a relative of Naveen (Gobi stall owner), who works as a tile layer in Bengaluru, had come to the house of Naveen for Sankranti festival. 

It is learnt that on last Friday night, when Arun and Mahesh were sitting near a bakery, close to Shanthala Theatre, Jayakumar, who was carrying food parcel, began to abuse the two in foul language following which wordy duel ensued between them and Arun – Mahesh duo thrashed Jayakumar.

Jayakumar, who wanted to take revenge, followed the two who were proceeding on a scooter with his friends on a bike. When the two stopped at the signal light at Devaraj Urs Road-JLB Junction, Jayakumar reportedly stabbed Arun on his chest and Mahesh on his back and fled from the spot. Passersby admitted the profusely bleeding duo to K.R. Hospital.

Devaraja and Lakshmipuram Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted preliminary enquiry and as the spot of crime comes under Lakshmipuram Police limits, a case has been registered by Lakshmipuram Cops, who are on the lookout for absconding duo.
