Entries invited for KUWJ award

The Bengaluru-based Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) has invited entries from Journalists for its annual awards (2022). The awards for the print media are as follows:

G. Narayanaswamy award (Best rural report), Patel By-rahanumaiah award (Best human interest report), Giridhar award (Best crime report), B.S. Venkataram award (Best scoop), K.A. Nettakallappa award (Best sports report), Khadri Shamanna award (Best political analysis), Mangala M.C. Varghese award (Best pictorial report in weekly paper), Bandapura Muniraju memorial award (Best photographic report), R.L. Vasudevarao award (Best report on wildlife), R.L. Vasudevarao award (Best report on forest conservation), B.G. Thimmappaiah award (Best report on economically backward sections of the society), Mandibele Shamanna Memorial award (Best report on rural livelihood), Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Memorial award (Best report on Bengaluru urban and rural development), Yajaman T. Narayanappa Memorial award (Best agricultural report published in District-level newspapers), Nadiger Krishnarao award (Best critic award), Best page design award (for deskwork staff), Best report on Court Beat, Sunnavanda Srinivas Chengappa award (Best report on armed forces), K.N. Subramanya award (Best English newspaper report) and T.K. Malagonda award (Best investigative reporting).

Awards for Electronic (TV) Media are as follows: Best political analysis, Best investigative report, Best social and human interest report and Best Anchor.

The reports/articles  should have been published in newspapers and magazines in the period between Jan.1, 2022 and Dec.31, 2022. Translated reports/ articles are not considered for the awards. Office-bearers of State, District and Taluk-level Journalists Associations cannot apply for the awards and those who have already won the award in a particular category, are not eligible to apply again under the same category.
