Entry to Srirangapatna Temples banned on select days

Srirangapatna: With the number of devotees visiting the famed Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangapatna and Nimishamba Temple at Ganjam increasing by the day of late, the Taluk Administration has imposed restrictions on entry to the two temples as a precautionary and safety measure in the wake of a possible third wave of attack of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. 

As per the restrictions, the entry of devotees to Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple has been banned on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays, while the entry of devotees to Ganjam’s Nimishamba Temple has been banned on Hunnime-Amavasya (Full Moon Day-New Moon Day), Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays and other public holidays. 

The entry ban orders has been issued by Srirangapatna Tahsildar Shwetha under the Epidemic Diseases Control Act. However, VIPs and officials, who are on Government protocol, can visit the temples in accordance with Government SOPs.
