MLA G.T. Devegowda instructs officials
Mysuru/Mysore: MLA G.T. Devegowda has instructed officers concerned to evict people staying unauthorisedly in Ashraya houses in Ekalavyanagar, Amruta Layout and those in Chamundeshwari constituency.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Old Council Hall of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) regarding implementation of Ashraya Housing Schemes, Devegowda said that the houses were built to house the shelterless and the beneficiaries were selected by the Karnataka State Slum Clearance Board.
He pointed out that a few such houses have been allotted to wrong beneficiaries or they have been given on rent to unauthorised people which is objectionable and asked the officers to get the unauthorised occupants evicted, some of whom have been staying for the last ten years. He instructed the officers to visit every such house, collect the data and submit a report to the Government.
He warned of stern action on any official involved in corrupt activities regarding selection of beneficiaries. He asked Tahsildar K.R. Rakshit to submit the report soon. He also instructed the officials to provide basic infrastructure to all Ashraya houses.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, Additional Commissioner Shashikumar, Assistant Commissiner Venkataraju and others attended the meeting.
