Mysuru: Anaga G. Honalli, 1st PU student of Base PU College, was selected and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson to attend the Global STEM Summit-2018 held in New York in July, where she won the STEM Storytelling Contest, part of “1000 Girls, 1000 Futures” programmes conducted by New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), in which she profiled the story of Dr. Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, the 2008 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology/Medicine for her work in discovering the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Also, BASE PU College Chess team won 1st prize in the District-level Chess Tournament conducted by the PU Department, Mysuru. Further its team member Tejeshwara Murthy of 1st PU has been selected for the State-level Chess Championship.

The team achieved this feat by beating formidable opponents from 15 Institutions.
