Expedite vaccination for College students, staff

July 2, 2021

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan has asked all Vice-Chancellors of Universities to ensure vaccination of students above 18 years at the earliest.

Holding a virtual meet with Vice-Chancellors yesterday, he said as per schedule, the College students need to be inoculated before July 7 and the VCs must try to complete vaccination by that time. However, time limit could be extended by two or three days, if necessary, he added.

The Minister said students were being vaccinated as priority group to facilitate starting offline classes for the higher education courses. The date of opening of physical classes would depend upon the success of the ongoing vaccination drive. The Government was ready to extend all cooperation in this regard, he noted.
