Farmers to stage ‘Grameena Karnataka Bandh’

January 6, 2020

Mysuru/Mysore: Condemning the anti-farmer policy of the Union Government, farmers would support the proposed nation-wide bandh on Jan.8 by resorting to a ‘Grameena Karnataka Bandh’ that day.

Disclosing this at a press meet in city yesterday, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha District President Hosur Kumar said that products like vegetables and milk involving farmers would not be supplied to city from villages.

He further said that the farmers have been made aware of the proposed bandh.

Kumar pointed out that the NDA Government at the Centre has totally neglected farmers by implementing wrong policies which has increased the suicide rate of farmers out of desperation.

He said that the crop insurance schemes have been given to private companies making them richer with no use for farmers.

Office-bearers Kempaiah, Shankar and Marankaiah were present during the press meet.
