With the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) planning to widen a stretch of Mysuru – T. Narasipur Main Road at Kempayyanahundi, which forms part of NH-766, the Forest Department has invited petitions, if any, from the public on felling of trees to facilitate highway expansion. The NHAI has proposed felling of a total of 86 trees of different species on either side of the road for road expansion. The members of the public can file petitions through e-mail: [email protected] or by post to the Office of the Range Forest Officer, who is also the Tree Officer, Old Santhemala, T. Narasipur Town, before Aug. 3, according to a press release from the Range Forest Officer.
