Festivals: Police Commissioner holds peace meeting

Mysore/Mysuru: With Ganesha festival (Sept. 18)  and Eid (Sept. 28) round the corner, City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh held a peace meeting with Hindu and Muslim leaders at his office here on Thursday.

Calling for peaceful celebration of festivals, Ramesh gave some directions to Ganesh festival Pendal organisers to take prior permission from statutory authorities such as CESC, MCC and the Police Department. Stating that there is no pe rmission for use of DJ, he asked the leaders to maintain Law and Order during the celebrations.

Pointing out that the mass immersion procession of Ganesha Idols is scheduled to take place on Sept. 24, he said that the Organisers have been given directions, which they have agreed to follow.

DCPs M. Muthuraj and Jahnavi were present at the meeting.
