MLA upset with callous attitude

Mysuru:  The more padayatra he undertakes, the more it is becoming an eye-opener for MLA L. Nagendra and he has more reasons to be upset. The latest one is the wastage of water he found in the   Fire Brigade Station in Saraswathipuram coming under Ward 20, when he was on a padayatra yesterday.

He saw the drinking water pipe broken and the precious water flowing freely and the same water being let to the coconut trees. Then he saw the quarters looking like ghost houses and the doors of the houses broken. Seeing this callous neglect and total indifference shown by the officials of the Fire Department, he took them to task.

Moving further, he saw the compounds of Sri Rama Park and Javaregowda Park broken and the cattle entering the park filled with weeds and wild grass. There was also the menace of a few rowdy elements, complained the residents. He also directed the MCC officials to construct proper toilets in the parks.

The Garage Mechanics Association office-bearers complained to the MLA that the MCC was harassing the garage shops regarding issue of licence permits. He asked the officials to collect the necessary documents and issue trade licences.

Reaching the Kukkarahalli Lake junction, he noticed the requirement of high-mast lighting and also need for electricity connection to two houses in the area under 24.1 scheme.

Former Mayor R. Lingappa, MCC Health Office Dr. D.G.  Nagaraj, Zonal Development Officer Gangadhar and other officials accompanied Nagendra during the padayatra.
