In a landmark collaboration, India’s apex cultural institution, Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA), New Delhi, joins hands with Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, Mysuru — India’s pioneering University dedicated to performing arts — to present a prestigious five-day National Festival of Music, Dance and Lecture Demonstrations (SNA Fellows & Awardees Festival of Music and Dance 2025)
The event is a celebration of India’s rich cultural legacy, coinciding with two significant global observances: World Dance Day and World Music Day. As a tribute to the timeless traditions of Indian performing arts, the festival will bring together some of the finest artistes from across the nation — eminent Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees and Fellows — to perform and engage with the audiences of Mysuru, the cultural capital of Karnataka.
This grand national festival will be held from Apr. 29 to May 3, at Vijnana Bhavan, Manasagangothri campus, Mysuru.
The event will be inaugurated by Dr. Lalitha Srinivasan and Dr. Aruna Kumar Kembhavi, IAS, along with Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chairman of Sangeet Natak Academy, Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote Vice-Chancellor, Music University, Prof. Manjunath, Registrar (Evaluation) and K.S. Rekha Registrar (Administration).
The morning sessions will commence at 11 am, followed by evening sessions from 4 pm. Audiences can expect an enriching lineup of classical music and dance performances, as well as insightful lecture-demonstrations led by revered maestros of the Indian performing arts community.
The festival is curated under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sandhya Purecha and Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote.
