Flower Show to be a starry event

Mysuru: This year’s Dasara Flower Show will be a starry event with Sandalwood Stars descending at the Kuppanna Park where the flower show will be held from Sept. 21 to 30. This apart, music shows have also been organised. Actors including Kirik Keerthi, Roopika of Maja Talkies fame, comedian Mithra, actors Arun Gowda, Raghunandan, Avanthika, Kavya Shetty, Arpitha and others are expected to visit the Dasara Flower Show for the releasing move trailers, audio launch and also to entertain the audience.

This year’s Flower Show is based on the theme ‘Constitution, Equality and Brotherhood.’ The main attraction this year will be the flower-bedecked model of Chennakeshava Temple in Somanathapura. The other attractions include the heritage city’s Doddagadiyara (Big Clock Tower), Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Barbie Doll, 12-foot tall peacock, Buddha, Basavanna and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statues, which will all bloom with flowers.

Nearly 3.5 lakh visitors are likely to visit the flower show during the 11 days it has been organised. Kuppanna Park will come alive with nearly 2,15,000 variety of flowers. The replica of Chennakeshava Temple will be decorated with three lakh rose flowers. It will be 18 ft high, 37 ft wide and 16 ft long. Orchids, Bonsai, Cactus, Anthurium, are in full swing at the Kuppanna Park in Nazarbad for the 11-day Dasara Flower Show opening on Sept. 21. Picture alongside shows the artist’s impression of the Chennakeshawa Temple in Somanathapura decked with flowers. Vegetables engraving, dry flowers decoration, honey selling centre, terracotta and other handicraft items will also be the attractions.
