‘Follow Union Health Ministry guidelines for vaccination’

May 21, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: National Health Mission has directed Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri not to allow diversion of vaccine supplied by the Government of India and use it to vaccinate only healthcare and frontline workers.

According to a press release, this order followed classification of bank, transport and railway employees as frontline wor-kers and vaccinating them with the vaccine supplied to inoculate people above 45 years of age, by certain States.

This has hampered the vaccination of health and frontline workers. Hence, every District Administration must strictly follow the guidelines issued by Union Health Ministry in regard to vaccination, and follow it strictly, the release added.
