Mysore/Mysuru: Ever since COVID Curfew was announced, Devaraja Market Traders Association, in a bid to ward off hunger of the poor and the needy, have been distributing food packets across the city.

The members of Devaraja Market Traders Association, headed by Association President Devaraju distributed food packets to poor people near K.R. Hospital, Mysore Railway Station, Dhanvantri Road and Sub-Urban Bus Stand in city yesterday.

Speaking to press persons, Devaraju said, “Ever since COVID Curfew was imposed, all hotels have been closed. Hundreds of poor, daily wagers and labourers, who sleep on roadside, are having tough time. Every morning, since the last 10 days, members of our Association have been distributing nearly 300 food packets to these people.” 

“Now, the State Government has announced 15-day mini-lockdown from tomorrow (May 10) and we will continue to distribute food to help these people during this tough time. I will speak with our office bearers in this regard,” Devaraju added

Association members Ravi, Thukaram, Mohan Kumar, Manju and others were present.
