Food runner killed as car collides into bike

Mysuru: A food runner (the person who delivers food to doorstep), who suffered serious head injuries, when a car rammed into his bike on Albert Victor Road here on Friday afternoon, succumbed to injuries at a private hospital here in the evening.

The deceased is Somashekar (27), a resident of Koorgalli in city and an employee of Swiggy Food Delivery Services.

On Friday afternoon, Somashekar was proceeding on Albert Victor Road on his Hero Honda Splendor (KA-09 HR-8219) from K.R. Circle towards Hardinge Circle side, when a speeding car (KA-53 B-7793) coming from Dr. Rajkumar Park side rammed into his bike, resulting in Somashekar suffering from serious head injuries. Though he was admitted to K.R. Hospital, Somashekar succumbed to injuries at about 5 pm on the same day, according to the Police.

Devaraja Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
