Forest workers demand regularisation of jobs

Mysuru: Around 500 daily wage workers of the Forest Department held a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office here this morning, urging the State Government to fulfil their demands .

The protestors, who assembled at the Town Hall premises, took out a protest rally till the DC’s office passing through the main thoroughfares of city. They have been demanding the Government to regularise their jobs and extend all benefits given to the State Government employees.  

They also demanded for the abolition of contract system and urged to provide FDC salary scale for those who have completed graduation. The workers also threatened to intensify the protest by launching an agitation at the Freedom Park in Bengaluru.

Daily Wage Workers Association State President A.M. Nagaraj, Vice President J.N. Nagaraj, Secretary Rudrappa and others were present.
