‘Mahadasara-2018,’ the annual fest of Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT), a unit of Maharaja Education Trust (MET), was inaugurated by David Johnson, former International cricketer, Team India, recently at the College premises.

The guest, convener of the fest, Principal and MET Members, holding the flags of India, Karnataka and MIT, were brought to the stage on the horse backs, lead by a professional band, for the inauguration which witnessed more than 2,000 students and 200 staff of MITM.

After addressing the gathering, the former fast bowler and the present coach at National Cricket Academy for U-16 boys, David Johnson inaugurated the Sports Meet by bowling to the MET members.

As part of this event, spanning from Feb.5 to 10, the College had organised a State-level Cycle Race from Balarama Gate of Mysore Palace to the College premises yesterday.

This event, which had a tag line  ‘Save fuel, be eco-friendly  – start cycling,’ attracted many a professional cyclists from across the State apart from the MET Members, MITM staff and students. The cycle race was flagged off by MET Members and the Convenor of Mahadasara-2018 near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Mysuru.

Later in the College, victorious participants were given the prizes, distributed by Dy.SP K.B. Vishwanath (Srirangapatna), who was the chief guest of the award function.

Staff of MIT (Men): 1. Abhilash (Rs. 2,000) and 2. Prasanna Pateel (Rs.1,000); Women: 1. B.N. Bhavyashree (Rs.2,000) and 2. Myriam Marie Delcasse (Rs. 1,000).
