Four arrested for illegal transportation of money

The Police have arrested four persons on charges of illegal transportation of money in a car and have seized Rs. 1.98 lakh from them.

The arrested persons have been identified as 32-year-old Binees, 26-year-old Murugan, 29-year-old Shashi and 39-year-old Faisal, all residents of Bawali village, Waynad district in Kerala.

It is reported that the four accused on Monday night were travelling in a Santro car, which was stopped for checking at the election check-post near River Kapila on Hullahalli-Mysuru Road. During checking, the Police found Rs. 1.98 lakh in Rs. 500 and Rs. 2,000 denominations.

As the occupants of the car failed to produce relevant documents pertaining to the cash, Sector Magistrate D. Paramesh, who was present at the spot, lodged a complaint at Hullahalli Police Station, following which, the Police arrested the four car occupants, registered a case and have taken up investigation.
