7 persons booked for assault in separate cases

In three separate cases, complaints have been registered in Vidyaranyapuram, Vijayanagar and K.R. Police Stations against seven persons on charges of assault.

Vidyaranyapuram Police Station: A complaint has been registered at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station against a group of unknown persons for assaulting two students over a petty issue in Vidyaranyapuram on Mar. 19.

The students, who were assaulted, have been identified as M. Chethan and Srinivas.

It is reported that Chethan, son of Mahadevu and his friend Srinivas on Mar. 19 night, were studying when an unknown person called on Chethan’s mobile phone, threatened him and asked him to come to a particular place.

When Chethan and Srinivas went to the place which the unknown caller had asked them to come, a group of youth assaulted them with cricket bat, abused them using foul language and fled from the spot.

A complaint has been lodged at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station in this regard.

Vijayanagar Police Station: Complaint has been lodged against two persons for assaulting a woman, which took place in Vijayanagar on Mar. 19 afternoon.

While the victim of the assault has been identified as Nagarathna, a resident of Koorgalli, the persons who assaulted her have been identified as her relatives Shivamurthy and Parvathy.

It is reported that on Mar. 19 afternoon, Shivamurthy and Parvathy allegedly barged into the house of Nagarathna when she was alone, abused her, assaulted her and fled from the scene.

A complaint has been lodged at Vijayanagar Police Station in this regard.

K.R. Police Station: An incident of a person assaulting a woman who was drawing rangoli has been reported at Khille Mohalla, coming under K.R. Police Station on Mar. 18.

While the woman, who was assaulted, has been identified as the wife of one Madhusudan, residing on Ramanuja Road 1st Cross, the person who assaulted the woman has been identified as Pradeep Kumar.

It is reported that on Mar. 18 morning, the woman was drawing rangoli in front of her house, when Pradeep Kumar, who is the neighbour, allegedly picked up a quarrel over a petty issue, abused the woman, assaulted her and even assaulted her son K.M. Nishanth, who came to the rescue of his mother, besides snatching a 25 grams gold chain which Nishanth was wearing and fled from the spot.

A complaint has been registered at K.R. Police Station in this regard.
