Mysuru:  In two separate murder cases, the Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced four persons to life imprisonment.

The four persons, who have been sentenced, are S. Shekar, C.R. Pradeep and Kunta for murdering watchman Venkatarangaiah at People’s Park in Nazarbad and another accused Manu for murdering one Dinesh for petty reasons.

Shekar, Pradeep and Kunta on Oct.21, 2016, had come to People’s Park to extort money from transgenders. But the transgenders, who saw them, had fled from the place.

They then entered the shed of watchman Venkatarangaiah and tried to steal the mobile phone. When Venkatarangaiah resisted them, the three accused murdered him and had fled with the mobile phone and Rs.70 cash.

After hearing the arguments from both the sides, the Judge, who found the three accused guilty of the crime, sentenced them to life imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs.10,000 each.

In the second case, victim Dinesh had humiliated Manu in a love case. Dinesh had removed cloths of Manu and had insulted him. Manu, in a bid to take revenge, made Dinesh consume liquor and strangled him with a towel, thus killing him.

The Judge, who found Manu guilty, sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs.10,000 on him.
