Fox injured in road mishap, rescued and released into woods

Mysuru:  A fox was injured when an unidentified vehicle hit it while it was crossing the road near Valmiki Road junction near Paduvarahalli in city this morning.

On information from Advocate Paduvarahalli Ramakrishna, V.V. Puram Police and Forest Department Officials rushed to the spot and shifted the wild animal to the local Veterinary Hospital.

The fox is said to have suffered from internal injuries was treated and was later released into the woods by the Forest Department officials.

Valmiki Road junction located very close to Kukkarahalli Lake houses rare species of animals and birds including foxes.           

Meanwhile, hundreds of people from surrounding areas thronged the spot to take the glimpse of the wild fox as seeing fox in the early morning is believed to be auspicious. Police faced a tough time in controlling the crowd at the accident spot.
