Free camp for modular artificial limbs held

Mysore/Mysuru: A free Fitting and Measurement Camp for Modular Artificial Limbs (Hands and Legs) for the differently-abled was organised at Samata Bhavan, Nazarbad in the city recently.

The camp was jointly organised by Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Pvt. Ltd., Aashray Seva Sansthan Udaipur, Lions International District 317 G and Jain Milan Charitable Trust.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who was the chief guest, highlighted the alarming rise of diabetes in society and stressed the need for public awareness and preventive care. 

Ln. K. L. Rajashekara, District Governor, Lions International District 317G, stated that the Artificial Limb Project of Lions Mysore East, has been serving beneficiaries for  over three decades.

Ln. Mahaveer Chand Bhansali, District Chairman for Artificial Limbs, was the inspiration and driving force behind this noble initiative, he noted.

Rajashekara further appreciated that the legacy is being carried forward with equal dedication by his son, Ln. Hemant Bhansali, District Secretariat, who presided over the meeting.

Earlier, the camp was inaugurated by MLA G.T. Devegowda.

MLA T.S. Srivatsa, in his address, appreciated the Jain community for nurturing and supporting the well-being of all living beings.

Dr. Shushrutha Gowda, Managing Director of NeuroZone, Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital,  Suresh Dak, President, Sadhu Margi Sanstha, were the guests of honour.

Ln. M. G. Veeresh, President, Lions Club of Mysore East,  Ln. D. Vijaylakshmi, Secretary, Lions East, Madanlal Maru, President, Jain Milan Palace City, Ln. Pramila, President, Lions Club of Mysore Golden City,  Ln. Golden Suresh, Lions Club of Mysore Golden City,  other dignitaries and volunteers were present.
