Free health, blood donation camps in city tomorrow

Doctors Day and Newspaper Day celebrations

Mysore/Mysuru: Akhila Karnataka Vokkaligara Mahasabha, Bhoomigiri Narayanappa Samskrutika Pratishtana and Alliance Club of Mysore Nalwadi, have jointly organised a free health check-up and blood donation camp along with Doctors Day and Newspaper Day celebrations between 10 am and 2 pm on July 28 at Sri Mahadeshwara Temple premises in Paduvarahalli, said Organiser N. Bettegowda.

Doctors from reputed hospitals in city will conduct checks for diabetes, blood pressure, eye problems, joints and bones and dental problems. Dr. A.S. Poornima will conduct screening for uterus and menstruation problems. Needy patients will be provided spectacles, according to a press release.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will inaugurate. City’s Jayadeva Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. K.S. Sadananda will light the lamp. Littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar will preside.

MLAs G.T. Devegowda and K. Harishgowda, MLC C.N. Manjegowda, former MLA L. Nagendra, former Corporators Namratha Ramesh and Bhagya Madesh, Senior Labour Officer Vishnugowda, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President K.B. Lingaraju and Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Alliance Club International Director Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy, District Governor Siribalu, Sahitya Loka President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, social worker K. Raghuram Vajpayee, BJP Mysuru District President L.R. Mahadevaswamy, Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, Janahitha Sangha President M. Bhyrappa, Paduvarahalli Gramabhudaya Trust President M. Mahadevaswamy and Vice-President S. Ramu will be the chief guests.

Akhila Karnataka Vokkaligara Mahasabha Gen. Secretary  Dr. E.C. Ningaraj will deliver introductory address. Alliance Club of Mysore Nalwadi Secretary Lakshmidevi & Treasurer M.N. Chandrashekar will be present.

On the occasion, ‘Sahitya Ratna’ award will be conferred on journalist Amshi Prasannakumar; ‘Vaidya Ratna’ on Dr. Sadananda and Dr. Raghunandan Shekarappa and ‘Madhyama Ratna’ on journalists C.K. Mahendra and Ram.
