Free Skill Training Workshop for differently-abled and youths

NR Centre for Community Development invites applications 

Mysore/Mysuru: NR Centre for Community Development, an initiative by NR Foundation, has launched a Free Skill Training Workshop for youngsters. 

The programme, which has been started to upskill the youth and enhance their employability, also caters to the skilling needs of differently-abled youths with visual, physical and hearing impairment.  

The free training provides professional expertise in Computer, Spoken English, Soft Skills, Cell Phone Repair and Service, Paper and Cloth Bag-making with Screen Printing, Masala Powder, Papad and Pickle-making and Entrepreneurship Development Programme for Micro-Entrepreneurs.  These workshops are hosted in NR Foundation’s training centre at Paduvarahalli, Mysuru. 

Totally, five batches of these workshops were hosted last year where 90 students were trained in various categories. The next batch will start from April second week for which NR Centre has invited applications.  Interested candidates may register before Apr. 15. 

Speaking about this initiative, R. Guru, Chairman, NR Group, said, ‘We focus on skills development and provide employability skills so that youths who cannot afford higher education or expensive courses can learn vocational skills and become self-reliant, contributing to the country’s economy.”

The training centres have five non-teaching staff and three teaching staff. 

Training Details

1. Computer, Spoken English and Soft Skills (90 days).

2. Cell Phone Repair  and Service  (30 days).

3. Artificial Jewellery-Making (10 days).

4. Paper and Cloth Bag-Making with Screen Printing (15 days).

5. Masala Powder, Papad and Pickle-Making (10 days).

6. Entrepreneurship Development Programme for Micro Entrepreneurs (13 days).
