‘Future managers must learn how to derive more results from less resources’

MP Dr. M.V. Rajeev Gowda at MYRA

“The world today is characterised by Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity or VUCA for short — a term coined by the US military. For business managers today this manifests itself in rapid urbanisation, climate change, demographic shifts and technological advancements,” said Dr. M.V. Rajeev Gowda, Rajya Sabha MP and an academician   par excellence.

Addressing a packed auditorium occupied by alumni, students and faculty of MYRA School of Business, Yelwal, on the occasion of ‘MYRAcles Day’ — the first Alumni Meet of MYRA on Mar. 4,  Dr. Rajeev Gowda said: “Managers, therefore, would need to learn how to derive more results from less resources; they would need to work in an ecosystem where there are more connected devices than people and would have to contend with anti-globalisation and increased tribalism.”

The MP also shared a few anecdotes about his alma mater and the ‘old boys’ club reiterating the priceless value of alumni in institution building.

Earlier, welcoming MYRA Alumni, who are currently working in reputed organisations like Nielsen, KPMG, UB Group, HCL, GMR Group, Deloitte, E&Y and Goldman Sachs, Dr. Shalini Urs, Founder-Chairperson, MYRA, mentioned that an alumni meet is an occasion for an institute and its alumni to honour and celebrate the mutual commitment towards each other.
