Gallows structure in a Park: A suggestion

January 6, 2021

Sir,

This is regarding the proposed total facelift for Subbarayanakere Park (SOM dated Dec.16). Gallows structure complete with a hanging figure in a noose in a Park? I am more than taken aback.

Honouring a freedom fighter is great, the involvement of CAVA students is great — but gallows with a body hanging from a noose as a Park attraction? Imagine the effect on the emotions of the visitors, impressionable children in particular.

Authorities and art students at CAVA may please come up with an image that is appropriate for a Park where people gather for relaxation.
