May 2, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: The N.R. Police have booked a case against seven persons including the owner of a Lodge  for allowing group gambling in the Lodge despite COVID Curfew in place.

Following a tip-off, the Police raided the Lodge located behind a Hotel on Nelson Mandela road on Friday, when it was found that six people were engaged in gambling illegally at a room of the Lodge, without following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

The Police have booked the Lodge owner and six others persons, who were allegedly engaged in gambling, under the Karnataka Police Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Act.

Meanwhile, City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta has warned the public against indulging in such illegal activities and crowd gathering amid COVID Curfew.

Drive against maskless

Asking the people to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour for checking the spread of the deadly virus, he said that the Police will intensify the drive against non-wearing of mask by people.
