Mysuru: A handicrafts exhibition and Sale ‘Gandhi Shilp Bazaar’ has opened at JSS Urban Haat in Hebbal Industrial Area which will go on for ten days. The expo organised by JSS Urban Haat and Union Ministry of Textiles has about 100 artisans exhibiting their products.
The expo features wooden in lays, bronze sculptures, carpets, imitation jewellery, leather items, paintings, dolls, moulded items, cane products, embroidery products, artistic stone items, Patola sarees and many more.
Inaugurating the expo, Journalist Ravi Hegde lauded JSS Institutions to launch the Urban Haat over ten years ago to showcase handicrafts and other artists materials. He wished that the venture become a popular destination for tourists.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Director (Finance) S. Puttabasappa, Director (Technical Education). Dr. C Ranganathaiah, Handicrafts Centre, Union Ministry of Textiles Assistant Director P. Shashidar and Convener Rakesh Rai were present.
The expo is open daily from 10.30 am to 9 pm.
